Hello Church Family

Wow, we have a lot going on.

* The container for Africa is on it’s way to the next stage of the process. – We are all a part of this ministry, taking place in a far different part of the world.

* The Days Of Port Yore is less than 2 weeks away ! Chris is doing a great job of keeping you all updated, so read his e. mails, and be involved where you can. I have read the script for the drama, and it is done very well. It would be great to see several salvation’s through this event. – Keep praying that God does great things.

* The new “Profile” series of Sunday messages begin this week. This series will be fun, as well as challenging and thought provoking.

* The purpose driven life small group series will begin next month !

FROM THE PASTOR

A few times a week, Pam, Jordan and I watch a Walton’s t.v. show on.

For those of you who are too young to know about this show, it is about a family living in Virginia during the 1930′s.

Times back then were simpler. No phone calls interrupting your work, or rest, or play. (The Walton’s had no phone, but there was one at the general store on Walton’s mountain)

No computer to check in on your e. mail. No video games. No television. No malls.

But, even though they lived in simpler times, they still had plenty of problems. – The great depression kept people pretty poor. Simple illness was a serious thing. Plus, the individual personalities of many people, ( 11 in one house) made things challenging.

The fact is, there has never been a time since Eden, when people lived without difficulty and challenges. -

Early Christians dealt with persecution. We deal with critics, and apathy, and many things that compete with our allegiance to Christ.

It is important to realize that, although every generation had it’s own set of problems, there have been those who have boldly held on to their relationship with Christ. Committed believes who refused to let the difficulty of life steal their relationship with their Savior. -

We can be encouraged to know that brothers and sisters from every time in history have paved the way for us. May we also be committed to leaving a trail for those who come after us. – Press on, through the good and the bad. - Press on, Through the trials, and the joys ! Press on, Until we’re through here, , , lets PRESS ON .
