From The Pastor
Hello Church Family
I hope that the great service we had yesterday, serves as a launch to a great week for you.
Yesterdays service had so many nice things. - Praise, Prayer, a laugh or two, and of course, the message from God’s word, as we continued our look at the fruit of The Spirit.
We also had a few visitors. – It is important that we always make our visitors feel especially welcome, and valued.
Cindy did a great job with a great song, and the time of worship was energized. I pray that our our worship was genuine, and that God was pleased with our corporate worship service.
This week finds us in the midst of a few exciting things.
Vacation Bible School – ( V.B.S.) Kicks off tonight, at 6:00 – 8:00. - The workers have been busy, the people are ready, and the theme is a fun one. – Super Hero’s !!!
But, what we really need, is God to work as only He can. – So, please be in prayer, that God will do great things for His glory !
CHRISTmas in July – This Sunday, July 25th, we will be exactly 5 months from CHRISTmas day ! We will have a special service to give us an opportunity to consider our missionaries, and to provide for their CHRISTmas.
FROM THE PASTOR – Some years ago, I decided on a new years resolution to memorize the main verse, or event of a certain number of chapters in the bible. -
By the end of January, I had succeeded. – I could have simply been satisfied with the accomplishment, or, , , I could have recreated the goal.
I have a Pastor friend, who yearly creates 3 goals for himself – One Spiritual, one Physical, and one financial. -
Jesus had a life mission, a goal to redeem mankind. Paul had a goal to preach to as many people as he could.
Goals are important. Goals move us on with purpose. Goals should be challenging, attainable and measurable. – And, if we fail, we should not be discouraged, but simply re-establish the goals. – If we succeed too easily, we should re-evaluate the goals. – John Maxwell said – “If at first you do succeed, , , try something harder”.
Set a goal this week, , ,or two, or three. Don’t forget a Spiritual one. Do your best. Then, Work with God toward those goals.
